KU Sriracha Welcomes UK Trade Envoy, British Embassy and British Council
Kasetsart University Sriracha Campus Welcomes UK Trade Envoy, British Embassy Bangkok and British Council, Advancing Academic and Research Collaboration.
March 12, 2026 at 14:00 - 15:00 hrs., Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sathaporn Chuepeng, Vice President for Sriracha Campus, welcomed the delegation from the British Embassy Bangkok and the British Council. The delegation was led by Mr. Matt Western MP, His Majesty's Trade Envoy to Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam. The visit marked their attendance at the academic collaboration meeting held at the Learning and Sharing Centre Room, 10th Anniversary Memorial Library.(Building 14)
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sathaporn officially welcomed the delegation, stating, "On behalf of Kasetsart University, it is my great honor and pleasure to warmly welcome you to Kasetsart University Sriracha Campus." He further added, "I sincerely hope that today's academic collaboration meeting will provide a valuable opportunity to exchange knowledge, explore new initiatives, and strengthen academic partnerships between us." Reaffirming the primary objective, he stated, "We are confident that today's dialogue will pave the way for deeper cooperation, mutual growth, and long-lasting friendship between Kasetsart University and our esteemed partners from the United Kingdom."
The key agenda for this meeting covered discussions on enhancing language proficiency and exploring opportunities for collaboration with universities in the UK. It also included a showcase of the university's outstanding research projects funded by the UK International Science and Partnerships Fund (ISPF). The two highlighted projects were the development of a microbial fuel cell system for wastewater treatment in partnership with the University of Southampton , and the development of 100% bio-based bicycle tyres in partnership with the University of Cambridge.
Furthermore, from 14:40 to 15:00 hrs. , a special session was organized for approximately 30 students. This provided an opportunity for the students to attend a short presentation on UK-Thai relations and collaboration in education. It also featured a Q&A session where students could directly interact with the delegates to inquire in-depth about opportunities to study in the UK and details regarding relevant scholarships. This effectively broadened the students' perspectives and provided concrete inspiration for their international education journey.
